I'm sorry for those of you who have spent your entire lives or most of your lives in the "let's-preempt-all-hard-weather-for-reality-shows-except-for-one-Al-Roker-show-in-the-morning-nobody-cares-about-and-let's-get-rid-of-the-smooth-jazz-in-the-local-on-the-8s" era.

I miss when The Weater Channel was there to give accurate weather forecast rather than to feed to the media with yet another ::dolphin noise:: snowstorm overreaction. They're all for the money now.

That's why we have weather.gov I guess. :/

I know the Weather Channel was a bit better in the past, but would you seriously just want to hear about the weather ALL DAY LONG? That would get annoying quick. That's why I like how The Weather Channel shows some shows about weather like "Strangest Weather on Earth",. (There's a lot more, but I don't really remember them.) I know that there's some shows that really don't have to do about weather such as "Coast Guard Alaska" or "Cold Water Captains", but most of the shows are about weather so stop complaining and be glad The Weather Channel is still about weather.

Local on the 8s is the best.

I agree with this, but the only thing I can miss about the past Weather Channel was that the Local on the 8s was a bit better than how they do it now.

I agree with this, but the only thing I can miss about the past Weather Channel was that the Local on the 8s was a bit better than how they do it now.

I don't hate The Weather Channel because they show tv shows that aren't about the weater; quite the contrary actually. I hate what they do WHEN THEY DO show the weather. It seems that they're not here to inform about weather but rather to enrage people about storms to get views and money.

-naming winter storms? just a way to get a winter hating society to watch the channel and freak out over a normal snowstorm ---> money
-frequent coverage of big storms and overexaggeration ----> views and money
-overexaggeration of "Crappy weather" -------> views and money
-overhyping and lying about polar vortex -------> fear, views, MONEy


Not to mention that TWC has completely forgotten that lesser known regions such as Upstate NY, hawaii, Alaska, rural west, etc. are actually a part of this country too!

Now, weather.gov?

They explain everything exactly the way it should with no media-scaring ::dolphin noise:: for more views
They talk about snowstorms exactly as they are; normal snowstorms you should be able to handle and not deal with like a wimp
They don't treat rain like the apocalypse, but, jeez idk, a WEATHER EVENT
They, without doubt, provide the most accurate forecast of not JUST major cities, but also every part of all 50 states


TWC had it's appeal back then...... now it exists solely to get people to freak out over snowstorms/hurricanes for MONEEZZZZ LOLZ

P.S: I'm confident that Coast Guard Alaska is FAR from what actually goes on there, I'm confident that Weirdest Weather stretches diferent facts, etc.
