On October 18, 2013, Mr. Krabs caused a stir by appearing as a bloodthirsty homicidal maniac in the Em. R. Lemon film, "Mr Krabs' Unquenchable Bloodlust." The film was universally panned by critics for its sensational and gratuitous violence, though praised for its extremely innovative special effects. However, the film is a beloved cult classic among slasher fans for its excellent pacing and complex characterization. "Mr Krabs' Unquenchable Bloodlust" is often packaged with "Squidward's Suicide" as a double feature DVD.
Eugene H. Krabs has stated in interviews that despite the film's negative reception, he is "proud" of his work in the film, claiming that it required him to "really push his acting chops." Despite this, he has been open about his disdain for co-star Spongebob Squarepants, who he considered to be "a conceited diva of the highest order" and "an absolute pain in the a$$" to work with. Actor Mr. Squarepants has spoken more warmly about his time working on the film, claiming that "working with Mr. Krabs was the biggest honor of my life. I was starstruck, he was such a gentleman." Supporting actor Patrick Star claims that Krabs's extreme method acting caused him to have a breakdown on set, fleeing the room in terrified tears, apparently "forgetting that he was in a film," according to Krabs. Squidward Q Tentacles, who composed the score for the film and made a cameo appearance as one of the victims, quipped in one interview, "They're all idiots. I hated everyone who worked on this Neptune-foresaken movie."
In the April of 2014, the film yet again sparked controversy due to allegations of it being a snuff film. Krabs was taken to court and accused of multiple homicides. To prove his innocence, Krabs brought several of his co-actors from the film to court, to show that they were alive and well. Spongebob even performed a short impromptu tap dance, which delighted the jury. The charges against Eugene H Krabs were dropped, though the judge remarked, "Note to self; watch out for Mr Krabs."
