‘The Simpsons’ Renewed for Season 31 and 32 at Fox

"The Simpsons" has been picked up for a 31st and 32nd season at Fox, the network announced Wednesday

That’s right, America’s second least favourite family’s gonna stick around until 2021, despite it being a clear money loser to Disney. They’re gonna pass 700 episodes, meaning that about 3/4 of the series will be in what longtime fans consider the show’s decline.


Personally, I too wish The Simpsons would just end before it somehow gets even worse, but I stopped feeling hurt by the quality of “modern” episodes back in Season 14. It’s become a numbness that I can easily drown out by putting on a classic. I’m just morbidly curious to see how long this show will last, and if it’ll eventually outlive absolutely everyone and everything that was around when it started.

I do know, in Russia, the ABC Muppets series airs on Disney Channel. So, you never know what channel will pick up a show, it depends on the country. But yeah, that would be cool.
