Since there are some people wondering what "100 Episodes" means, I'll show you. It's seasons 1-5, and it's 196 segments and 100 episodes. To explain, this is the list of what's on the DVD. The only unknown details are the shorts, which episodes have audio commentaries, whether or not the seasons 1-5 bonus features will be included and the disc breakup. It seems like that will be a mystery until next week.

Alright, check out the grabs for these-- You'll notice that the season 1 eps have been redone digitally rather than with cells. How they had the budget, time or anything to do that beats me. But this set is becoming more and more worth it. It also makes it preferrable to have all 5 seasons AND this set, like I will come Tuesday.

Don't ask why discs 5 and 12 only have 7 episodes, it would've made sense to have 8 on all of them and then only 4 on the last one, but whatever. It's all here, in production order. The outside of the slimcases have bulleted lists of episodes, and their numbers in production order, and the inside has the plots and original airdates, which is a nice touch, and especially since it's accurate.

There is audio commentary for many episodes, all from season 5. I haven't gotten a chance to watch any yet, but "Goo Goo Gas" has one, which peaked my interest becuase it may shed some light on why it took so long to air. I kinda wish "Atlantis SquarePantis" had one though. "Shanghaied" includes the different endings, too, as it is advertised on the packaging.

Also, the season box sets had the episodes in production order until there was confusion because of the volume split-up. But the episodes on this set are in production order, and even are listed by their production number. So the episode list above is the correct order. The only episode advertised as being double-length is "Atlantis SquarePantis", since it counts an episode as being 22 minutes long, no matter how many segments it includes (for example, "The Algae's Always Greener" and "SpongeGuard On Duty" are listed as 1 episode [#41 as described on the case], and "Whatever Happened to SpongeBob?" counts as 1 episode too). Long story short, every 22 minutes is an episode. Since "Atlantis SquarePantis" is 44 minutes, it's listed as a double-length episode even though it has only 1 production number.


Anyone who didn't like the packaging cannot help but love it in person. It has a solid plexiglass case with bubbles and the Nickelodeon and SpongeBob SquarePants logos printed on. Beneath that is a cardboard tube with the lenticular 3D packaging, and the description on the back and under THAT is a slipcase identical to the front packaging but in non-lenticular and with cool rear artwork that is the backwards for the front cover. Patrick is on one spine and Squidward is on the other. The slimcases themselves have been seen before.

Already before watching this I can post this extremely long review... Hahaha, in short I think if you're truly an extreme SpongeBob SquarePants fan, this set is perfect, even if you have the season releases (I'm not selling them because of packaging and bonus features). If you're just getting started, it's also for you. It's really convenient to have all those episodes in one place and its ready for travel in its plexiglass case which will ensure it doesn't get damaged.

This set is well-needed because of correct episode order, convenience, cool bonus features (though somewhat lacking), awesome packaging and it's a great way to celebrate the tenth anniversary.
