Some of you may have heard of a website called the Political Compass, in which you can take a questionnaire composed of around 80 questions, and it'll try to guess where you stand based on the results. I used to share that site around, but as I slowly realized, the result is borderline useless; it almost always puts you somewhere in the bottom-left square of the compass, and only the most extreme of people will ever land outside it. So, with that in mind, let me introduce something else!
9Axes is a lesser-known site based on a similar one called 8Values. It takes the concept of the Compass test, and instead of trying to map you on a left-right/authoritarian-libertarian grid, it gives you the results in the form of a set of 9 left-right axes which sum up where you stand. You have the option of answering just 45 questions, or going full hog and doing the full 200+ question test for precision's sake. I'm curious to see where all of you might end up on this test, so...
As someone who's always had at least one of their feet in the door of politics, I was able to take the full version and burn through it in about 20 minutes. Here's what I got:
