That '80s Show is an American sitcom that aired from January through May 2002. Despite having a similar name, show structure, and many of the same writers and production staff, it is not considered a direct-sequel of the more successful That '70s Show. It aired on FOX.

The show takes place in the year 1984 in the city of San Diego, California, and it follows a struggling musician known as Corey Howard who works at a record store.
Although it shares a similar title, it's not connected That '70s Show in any way.

My thoughts:
I thought the first few episodes were okay, but the later episodes were average (there were only 13 episodes which all took place in 1984!). If the show were more successful, and had five more seasons (using a similar structure to That '70s Show, where each season takes place in a different year of the decade) and ended on New Years Day 1990, maybe they would've had a shot at creating That '90s Show. Unfortunately, that never happened. The ratings plummeted, and Carsey-Werner Mandabach refocused their efforts on the more-successful That '70s Show.

  • Glen Howerton.......Corey Howard, a struggling musician, who works with Maggie and June at the Permanent Record.
  • Tinsley Grimes......Katie Howard, a Valley Girl, Corey's sister.
  • Eddie Shin......Roger Park, a used-car dealer/wannabe Yuppie, Corey's friend.
  • Chyler Leigh......June Tuesday, a punk rocker who wears her hair in Liberty Spikes, who works with Corey at the Permanent Record and eventually becomes Corey's girlfriend.
  • Brittany Daniel......Sophia, Corey's bi-sexual ex-girlfriend.
  • Geoff Pierson......R.T. Howard, owner of a small company called Videx.
  • Margaret Smith......Margaret, ex-hippie/groupie, owner of the Permanent Record record store.

It goes without saying that this wasn’t a good way of presenting a topic. If you compiled that information yourself, you could’ve done it in a more energetic fashion.
As for the topic itself, I was never into the Those Shows, so I thought That 80s Show was something The Simpsons made up!

That '90s Show will never happen, since That '80s Show was cancelled after episode 13. It never even made it out of 1984! That '90s Show became the name of a Simpsons episode.
