Sweet Victory facts

I found these facts on wikipedia and found them very interesting. >_<

* The song used in this episode, Sweet Victory, was performed by David Glen Eisley of the 1980s heavy metal band, Giuffria.
* In one scene, Patrick says "the owner of the White Sedan," but they drive boats in bikini bottom, not cars.
* When everyone in the room is saying "blah, blah, blah," SpongeBob and Patrick are sitting next to each other. However, when Patrick asks if mayonnaise is an instrument, he is sitting next to Sandy. The only way this is possible is if SpongeBob was next to Patrick on his other side, but when Mr. Krabs asks when they get the free food, Sandy is on one side of the room (viewers' left) in the front row and SpongeBob is on the other side (viewers' right) in the center row.
* The footage of the football game is from a USFL game at the Liberty Bowl, home of the Memphis Showboats. Crowd members can be seen wearing Tampa Bay Bandits shirts as well.
* On YTV airings, during the song, the captions read the line "The only attack" as "We're only intact". And the line "And it's ours for the taking, it's ours for the fight." is read as "And it's all for the taking, it's all for the fight.".
* The tune that was played by the trumpeters was first heard in Hall Monitor if observed closely.
* The German title of the episode, "Hr mal, wer da spielt" (roughly translated: "Listen, who's playing"), is probably an allusion to the German title of Home Improvement, which is "Hr mal, wer da hmmert" (roughly translated: "Listen, who's hammering").
* Towards the end, Squidward says, "I'll just tell them you all died in a marching accident." The flag twirlers actually did die in a marching accident after crashing into a blimp.
* When Patrick gets his neck squeezed into the bell of a trombone after he kicks Sandy, he sits down and the slide automatically moves up, which is impossible; the slide can only move downward without actually moving it manually. Then, as the slide comes closer to the mouthpiece, the note gets lower, which is also impossible on a glissando upwards like that). The note should get higher.
* To date, this is the only episode where Squidward wins.
* When the flag twirlers die in a freak zeppelin/marching accident, a trumpeteer starts to play Taps and all the other band members take off their hats to last greet the dead flag twirlers.
* This is the first appearance of Squilliam Fancyson.
* In this episode, it's revealed that Larry's heart once gave out from too many tanning pills.
* This episode can be referred to as a fan favorite.
* Nicktoons in the UK aired the "Sweet Victory" scene on a continuous loop for a few days after Telewest decided to include them in their cable packages again.
* The song that Squidward's band wanted to play was Love Rollercoaster by the Ohio Players.
* When Squidward tells the brass section to play, Pearl is seen with a saxophone. Actually, a saxophone is a woodwind because of its method of tone generation, even if it is made from brass.
* When Spongebob points upward when he is singing Sweet Victory, you can see a ring on his finger. This ring is often thought to be the Friendship Ring that was referenced in the episode that "Band Geeks" aired with The Secret Box
* When all the band members are fighting with each other you can see that Spongebob is fighting with a fake arm if you look really hard.
* One of the fish is seen with a sousaphone. One of the fish can be seen with an oboe. Normally oboes are not in marching bands. This is replaced by a flute or clarinet.
* Spongebob is seen with a bugle. It is seen because his trumpet has no valves.
* Squidward's band was originally stated to be a marching band, but was turned into a rock band at the end of the episode. The woodwind and brass instruments (with the exception of the trumpets) were replaced with vocals, guitars and a keyboard. This may be because Spongebob and the rest of the band spent most of the night rehearsing.
* When the Day 3 card appears its I Was a Teenage Gary's title card.

[edit] Quotes

There's a goof I noticed. If the band didn't know how to play any instrument prior to the song, how did the guy play the trumpet when the flag twirlers died?

You mean "Taps"? It's easy with the trumpet (I should know... I play it.) Basically, all they have to do is tighten their lips and it goes higher; no valves needed to be push. I could play "Taps" with my eyes closed. It's that easy.
