Nope. Just because it's good does not mean it's part of the classic era. SpongeBob entered a whole new era after the movie and the differences between pre-movie and post-movie are clear.

Every episode is perfect, but the eras are also different. :)

Classic Era: Seasons 1-3.

By far the best era.


Modernization: Season 4.

A good season, although episodes are getting worse.

The Dark Era: Seasons 5-8.

By far the worst era. Nearly all of the episodes are pure trash. Only a few of them are even okay, and only 4 or 5 good episodes.

The Silver Era: Season 9.

The 3rd best era. Aside from a few stinkers, This era was very good.

The season that started it all!A great season with good episodes that aren't as good as the other next two seasons,but still great!

The Golden Era:Seasons 2-3
THE BEST SEASONS EVER!Had one of the most memorable episodes like Band Geeks and Chocolate with Nuts.

The Bronze Era:Seasons 4-5
This is where the downhill of Spongebob begun.Season 4 had some good episodes,but some REALLY bad episodes like Funny Pants.Season 5 didn't even make it better.More bad episodes and characters' personalities are changing.

The Dark Era:Seasons 6-7
THE WORST SEASONS EVER!These seasons have many of the worst episodes in this entire show!A CHARACTER TRIED TO COMMIT SUICIDE FOR GOODNESS SAKES!Will let me put it this way.Season 6-Gross Out Humor.Season 7-Inappropriate.

Seasons 8-9:The Silver Age
Ahhhh yes!Spongebob is back like it use to be!While these two seasons are not as good as seasons 2 and 3,they are still great!There are some pretty bad episodes,but there are some pretty great episodes!

Silver Era - Seasons 4-5: Both amazing seasons, both extremely underrated.

Meh Era - Seasons 6-7: When the episodes were kinda "meh", there were some great episodes though.

The Early Modern Era/ Transitional Period (Season 4- Season 5) Still has some good episodes, but quality is getting lower.
The Modern Era/ The Dark Era/ Horrorbob (Season 6- Season 7) Most fans consider this as the worst era of Spongebob.
Post Dark Era/ Late Modern Era (Season 8- First half of Season 9) Episodes begin improving.
Silver Era/ New Golden Era (Second half of Season 9) Spongebob is back to the form of the Golden Era with a little bit of the Early Modern Era mixed into it.

Season 5: The Meh Era: This was when the show was really starting to get bad.
Seasons 6-8: The Dark Era: This was when the show was at it's worst.
Season 9a: The Okay Era: This was when the show was starting to get good qualities again.
Season 9b: The Revival Era: This was when the show was getting good again.
Seasons 10-present: The Renaissance Era: This was when the show was a great series again.

I've seen almost nothing from season 8, so will have to give my opinion on this later. However, I would like to chime in that New Digs is an amazing episode and my favorite from season 5. Just like Krusty Towers, Enemy In-Law and Fear Of A Krabby Patty from season 4, it's one of the Tibbitt gems I actually would put on the same level as the best ones from the Hillenburg run.

I do agree with that as I consider Season 4 to be great (Fear of a Krabby Patty and Krusty Towers to name a few do feel like pre movie SpongeBob) and Season 5 aswell (I do like Atlantis Squarepantis mainly for the Patchy segments)
