Bad Season

So, you guys know how Season Four was when the show went downhill? And Season Five is when it progressively went lower? Well, Season 6 is when this show hit Rock Bottom. This season was a disaster, and my 2nd least favorite. I disliked/ hated about half of the episodes, while I found most of the other episodes "meh", and I only genuinely liked less than a quarter of it. Those episodes are:

The Slumber Party
Spongicus
Krabby Road
Nautical Novice
Single Cell Anniversary
Grandpappy the Pirate

So overall, this season gets a 3/10

Whoa. Looks like I don't hate on season 6 as much as I used to. Still, it is a significant downgrade from previous seasons. The bad episodes here were not just bad, they were absolute garbage compared to the bad episodes before. There are a lot of flaws that strike my attention. Even in some of the good episodes, there is a scene that involves something that is just ugly, whether it is Squidward ripping out his eyebrow in Pineapple Fever or Patrick's face being ripped off in the beginning of Sand Castles in the Sand. Yeah, the good episodes here weren't even that good for me. Things that got a "B" here would have only been okay for me if I was reviewing on another level. There were only a small handful of episodes that made me laugh from beginning to end. That's actually really sad. The entire season wasn't nearly as funny as seasons 1-4, and even 5.

I mean, most of the "bad" episodes had at least 1 redeeming quality, but it still doesn't save them from being, well, BAD. It's hard for me to call an episode a total disaster, but here we have 2 episodes that were just...ugh. Yeah: it's clear that I don't really like this season here. It's not god-awful at all. Just really lame. That's saying something, since SpongeBob is my favorite TV show and I hate to see it wind up in such seasonal rot.

[Squidward1984]

·House Fancy - A - Excellent story, funny, great atmosphere. I love any episode that Squidward wins in. This would've gotten an A+ if it weren't for the infamous toe nail scene.

·Krabby Road - A+ - Excellent story, funny, awesome atmosphere.

·Penny Foolish - A - Decent story, occasionally funny, great atmosphere. I just don't like the ending.

·Nautical Novice - B - Good story but not very funny and I don't like the atmosphere too much. I also don't like the ending.

·Spongicus - A+ - Great story, funny, awesome atmosphere.

·Suction Cup Symphony - A - Wasn't that funny but it had an excellent story and a great atmosphere.

·Not Normal - A- - Great story and occasionally funny.

·Gone - A - Kinda creepy but this had a great atmosphere, a good story and was occasionally funny. It was also interesting to see Spongebob without his friends.

·The Splinter - F - Disgusting, unfunny, and weak story. My stomach gets upset whenever I see that splinter getting injected into Spongebob'd thumb. Way too graphic for a show for kids.

·Slide Whistle Stooges - F - Annoying, unfunny, dumb story.

·A Life In A Day - A+ - Excellent story, funny, great atmosphere. Patrick was very funny.

·Sun Bleached - A - Great story, occasionally funny, awesome atmosphere.

·Giant Squidward - F - Decent story but Squidward was being targeted by the Bikini Bottom residents just because he got angry at Spongebob and Patrick for making him big? Give me a break!! All he wanted to do was take care of his kelp garden and Spongebob and Patrick just had to harass him and then enlarge him and torture him yo the point where breaks down into tears. This is probably one of the saddest episodes out of the whole series. Even I break into tears when I see this episode.

·No Nose Knows - C+ - Great story but Patrick went a little out of control with the bad smells. I felt bad for him though because all he wanted to do was smell like everyone else.

·Patty Caper - A - Excellent story and funny.

·Plankton's Regular - C - Excellent story but was very disgusting.

·Boating Buddies - D+ - Good story and was occasionally funny but Spongebob was insanely annoying.

·The Krabby Kronicle - F - Dumb story and was very mean spirited.

·The Slumber Party - D+ - Good story but the rest of the episode was extremely weak.

·Grooming Gary - F - If only Spongebob were to listen to Gary there wouldn't have been that disaster at the pet show. Terrible episode.

·Spongebob Vs. The Big One - A - Great story, funny and nice atmosphere.

·Porous Pockets - D+ - Excellent story but Spongebob was a pain in the neck.

·Choir Boys - F - One of the worst episodes of the whole series. All Squidward wanted to do was join the choir but Spongebob just kept stalking him until he was able to join the choir. I wanted to strangle Spongebob in this episode.

·Krusty Crushers - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·The Card - F - Patrick was terrible in this episode.

·Dear Vikings - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·Ditchin' - A - Great story, occasionally funny, great atmosphere.

·Grandpappy The Pirate - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·Cephlapod Lodge - F - Squidward was just being a part of his lodge while Spongebob and Patrick had to invade it. Then when they help Squidward get back into the lodge, they are stupid enough to get Squidward kicked out again. This episode was just a total waste of my time.

·Squid's Visit - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·To SquarePants Or Not To SquarePants - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·Shuffleboarding - C- - Good story and occasionally funny but the I didn't like how the citizens were locked up for the most stupidest reasons.

·Professor Squidward - F - Bad story and I hate how Spongebob and Patrick got Squidward arrested for impersonating Squilliam. Why couldn't it have been someone else. I also don't like how Squidward doesn't win in this episode.

·Pet Or Pests - D - I felt extremely bad for the mother worm because she got chased away by Gary. At least her babies found new homes.

·Komputer Overload - B+ - Great story and occasionally funny.

·Gullible Pants - B- - Excellent story but was not very funny.

·Overbooked - A - Excellent story, relatable, occasionally funny and great atmosphere.

·No Hat For Pat - ? - I don't remember this episode too well.

·Toy Store Of Doom - A - Awesome atmosphere, great story, occasionally funny.

·Sand Castles In The Sand - A - Great and creative story and awesome atmosphere but not that funny.

·Shell Shocked - B+ - Excellent story and occasionally funny but poor Gary has to put up with Spongebob's stupidity here.

·Chum Bucket Supreme - C - Good plot but the slogans are weird.

Meh I'm too lazy to actually do a list like those above me, so I'll just give some quick thoughts on the season.

Negatives:

• While not the worst season of SpongeBob (that's a tie between 7-8), it definitely is not a good season by any means. Boring, bland, and tasteless episodes abound in this season, not to mention that most of them are the most forgettable episodes of SpongeBob (seriously who even remembers Ditchin'?). Also, the animation just seems stale this whole season. It barely is cartoonish at all, and no one really does a lot of moving? It's hard to explain. Just look at season 10 episodes to really see the difference.
• Season 6 has some of the worst SpongeBob specials ever. Truth or Square, Clash of Triton, and To Squarepants or Not to Squarepants are all in season 6. Season 6 also has some horrible SpongeBob episodes period. Plankton's Regular, Grooming Gary, Choir Boys, The Card, Cephalopod Lodge, Squid's Visit, Shuffleboarding, Guillible Pants, and even more episodes are from this season.
• I will say that Season 6 is the most consistently bad season. While seasons 7-8 are tied for worst in my book, season 6 has the largest amount of bad and bland episodes, with barely any good/passable ones to alleviate the pain.

Highlights:
Now, I will be fair and point out some of season 6's highlights.

• I, for one, actually liked Suction Cup Symphony. While it's a guilty pleasure at most, it just is higher quality compared to most of the other episodes of this season. I mean it doesn't grate your ears (it does get annoying though), and Squidward wins in the end (basically.)
• Patty Caper was another episode from this season that I liked. Now, it wasn't really funny or anything, but I'm a sucker for mysteries and spy stuff. I just think it's take on the whole mystery type thing was pretty good. Though, Mr. Krabs is a jerk in this episode, but he gets his just desserts, so it's good.
• I'm divided on SpongeBob vs. The Big One. I think most of my feelings for it stem from nostalgia, because I remember being a kid and being so excited to watch this thing. I recorded it and watched it over and over and over. Now that I look back on it, I see that it isn't a great episode. It drags on forever, and basically shoehorns in Mr. Krabs and debatably Sandy. But, the episode does use each character (other than Mr. Krabs) pretty well, so I can give it credit for that. Also, it's one of the more interesting specials, and it's more interesting just how forgotten it really is. Seriously, no one talks about this episode. Maybe it's because it's kind of boring? I don't know.

Only one amazing? Mostly mediocre and bad? Sounds like season 6, the season known as the one with the most bad episodes. It didn't have the worst episodes of the series, but it did have many of the ones not worth wasting your time with.

I hate this season with passion. I think it's the worst season in entirr show.
Seasons 4 and 5 maybe had more bad episodes than in previous seasons, but season 6 is generally bad with very few episodes really worth watching.
Everything else is boring trash with varying levels of bad.
Because of it, I just rate episodes that I actually somewhat enjoy from this season.

Slumber Party - 8/10
Grandpappy the Pirate - 6/10

Single Cell Aniverssary - 7/10.
That's all, in my opinion. Suction Cup Symphony and Krusty Krashers could've beed funny, but lack of energy in animation and pacing just makes them really boring to me. They somewhat tolerable, tho. They in "meh" category.

Overall, this is a Bad season. Man, the quality dropped big time. The first few episodes were not bad, but after The Splinter, the episodes got worse and worse. So many bland, dull, and unfunny episodes took over this season. It kinda got better in the end with episodes like Chum Bucket Supreme and Single Cell Anniversary, but there was also the last two specials, which both sucked. Overall, I do not recommend this season, unless you just love every single episode. If you like this season, I respect your opinion.

Why do you hate Chum Caverns?

This episode felt like boring Spongicus and Chum Bucket Supreme fusion with lack of anything funny or memorable.Also I’m don’t get why a lot of people say that this episode so visually appealing,sure,there nothing as horrendous as average season’s standards but this episode still looks bland for my taste.I don’t hate this episode,but it’s very lackluster

How do you make such a boring padded out episode where most is ::dolphin noise::ing patchy. It's not even funny patchy like atlantis. The flashbacks are so useless and padding out time. I bet if you took out patchy and the flashbacks this would be an 11 minute episode. I'm done with disc 2 now. Disc 3 should come soon.)
Pineapple Fever: God Tier (This was after Ditchin' lol/Holy ::dolphin noise:: the humor is so good. I don't know why everyone hates it.)

So this was an unexpected circumstance. There were more good and god tier eps combined than bad ones. Yet I don't think the season is good. It's barely Okay but I think I'm gonna settle in for a BAD! for this season. This whole thing felt wrong to me. I didn't even bring this up before but the animation quality is bad. Season 6 whenever it tries to do action scenes feels incredibly stiff. Pineapple Fever is God Tier but the ending scene feels so awful to watch that it didn't make the top 5. I will be getting s7 on amazon in a few days so be prepared for that. Hype for actual production order!
