I think Honest Slug went through the same experience Squidward did- he was so annoyed by Season 11’s atmosphere that he completely snapped at the same time as him. It’s the most relatable part of the season so far.

Season still looking pretty good, with only seven mediocre to bad episodes vs 22 episodes that are quality stuff.

On the other hand, this one didn't resonate with me. Unlike Bunny Hunt, the visual gags didn't add to an escalating plot and instead covered up a low-substance episode with an easily avoidable conflict (I get Mr. Krabs is cheap but trying to save on trash bags by making piles of sewage explode across town is stupidly minor). The majority of the jokes (from the random police department to the out-of-nowhere transformers sequence) are especially lazy ways to pad its length out.

Maybe it's because I really like the episode, but your criticism seems harsh on this. Your point about visual gags covering low substance can be argued for any episode Food Con Castaway to present. Avoidable conflict? That's like saying Krab Borg is an avoidable conflict because if Spongebob was not an idiot, than the whole plot wouldn't have happened. You can argue this point for a good chunk of episodes (not gonna give a percent since I barely remember most of the series anyway). I guess this comes down to taste, but I thought most of the jokes were well executed. Were there a few hiccups? Yeah (the doll scene), but most of the gags seemed pretty well written to me. I also believe the characters to be stronger than most post season 10 episodes, which is always a plus since most episodes rely on visuals. I don't think the crew relly expected people to take the transformers scene as seriously as they did too, but eh.
I still respect your opinion even though I disagree. Maybe I am overlooking something, but eh thats my 2 cents.

[Honest Slug]

I would rate Bottle Burglars higher myself. That really felt like a 9b episode. The plot was interesting with the role-reversal (Done much better than Plankton's Regular and One Coarse Meal) and the humor is much more based in characters than on visuals.

I also liked High Sea Diving myself and Bunny Hunt was a brilliant masterpiece as well, maybe I'm becoming a softie lol.

It's not like I didn't laugh at this one. Loved the joke where the doll said "I wanna get good grades" and Squidward replied "Well, you should stop saying wanna then".

Than why label the episode borderline F? If the episode has some good jokes, that sounds more D+ or C- to me

Overall thought:the first thing I want to say,is that this season has the worst two episodes for the whole series,both are unoriginal,has no focus and mostly unfunny,fortunately,this is only beginning,because I really think that this is the best post-movie season ever.I think that seasons 9B and 10 are just okay,but season 11 impressed me a lot.

The most interesting part is that season 11 is full of mediocre concepts for episodes,starting from boring ones(The Check-up,Spin the Bottle, Stuck on the Roof,Don’t Feed the Clowns,and so on),ending with absolute bizarre nonsense(There's Sponge in my Soup, Cuddle E. Hugs,Old Man Patrick),and yet I love all these episodes,for two reasons.The first is of course creativity,I adore creativity in this season,almost every scene is filled with interesting visual gags of different levels,from just smiling,to really hilarious,I also like most of characters expressions,I easily can understand people’s who dislike or hate this wackiness,but personally,I'm delighted with every second ones,because they are always full of creativity and well animated.The second reason is energy,unlike seasons like 6.Season 11 has an perfect timing,everything in the episodes happens pretty quickly,but at the same time I can understand what is happening on the other side of the screen,it’s also results a huge timing of jokes that I like.But even with the number of non good ideas,there are also quite excellent concepts with the same execution,such as Spot Returns,No Pictures Please or Chatterbox Gary.

Do I think that this season has problems? Sure:
1)Season 11 likes to using and animated stuck images,which I never approved,even with fact that they appear no more than 5-10 seconds,it still looks ugly.
2)This,season sometimes has noticeable problems with proportions,yes,I understand that this season always use off-model designs,but sometimes characters get shrinking without any reason.

3)Uggggggg...Do I even need to say this?Patrick.Although,I believe that he still for the most part a ridiculous comic reelife,but I must agree that in such episodes as The Clam Whisper,Pat the Horse,Drive Happy or Fun-Sized Friends,he acts VERY annoying.

This season is far from perfect,and of coarse as good as first three seasons,but it still for me funny,interesting and beautiful
entertainment.Sure,there are still passable or even bad episodes,but there are fewer if compared with previous seasons,and even in the worst episodes there is something that I really like.While I can’t make final results,because there has not yet been a significant number of episodes.But at the moment,I think that this is such a great season,and I hope that the rest of the episodes are not disappointed me

Out of curiosity, why do you hate My Leg so much? I found it to be a very good episode.

Whats even the point of all those ratings. Typical Wikia users man (btw IDK how My Leg and Sponge in my Soup are worse than constant screaming and idiocy of The Clam Whisperer. In fact, most of these opinions make little sense)

@Wintermelon43 I hate My Leg! because of the overusage of the gag and the slapstick.

@Coffee_lover I don’t get the hate behind The Clam Whisperer. I thought it was rather unique.

@hippythehippo What I do is add up all of the scores and find the mean average (divide total by # of episodes). My quotient was about 6, which makes it Meh.
