An interview with Rob Bagshaw the person in charge of unscripted programming revealed that reality shows are the new strategy for Nick moving forward

I should have seen this coming with America's Most Musical Family, Top Elf, The Substitute, etc

But does that mean they're de-emphasizing cartoons?

What do you think?

Thanks in advance!

I'm not a fan of reality shows, but at least they're trying to form an identity beyond "the SpongeBob channel." No kids channels have explored this genre much, as far as I know, so it is something new.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t mind that they’re “the SpongeBob channel.” I mean it’s probably all of our favorite show being that we’re on here, and while I would love to see more new original Nick shows, that’s quality over quantity in my mind

Though I also like them broadening the scope beyond "the Spongebob channel", I don't like the idea of them becoming Disney Channel 2.0. Live-action programming definitely works better for them though than Cartoon Network.
