Rate (Good, Meh, Bad) of all Episodes per Season

For my first ever post, I will rate each episode using PieGuyRulz's scale, which is "Good, Meh, and Bad", except by calling the "ScumBob" episodes, "Bad", since "ScumBob" is basically copyrighted by him, lol. "Meh" isn't, so I'll use that.

I might choose some to be in the AMAZING rating too. And I will choose my personal favorite for the season.

Here's how the rating scale works:

Good means that the episode is really funny, had a really good plot, had some clever and funny and overall good moments that I like, the characters (ESPECIALLY SpongeBob) were likable, and is just, well, a good episode that I remember liking as a kid and I still like it. I also have to enjoy and like the episode when I watch it. There are some exceptions to what I determine is a good episode, by the way. But what I stated is pretty much the standards for what a good episode is.

Meh means that the episode wasn't necessarily bad, but maybe a little boring and not funny. Or maybe it's a combination of good and bad? Maybe the episode starts off good, but gets worse and worse throughout the episode. Maybe it lacks some of the things I stated a Good episode has. Maybe the plot sucked. Maybe I may not enjoy or like the episode when I watch it, even though the episode is pretty decent. Meh just means that it's not "Good" and it definitely isn't "Bad", and it's just "meh". That's how I define Meh.

Bad means the episode is a disgrace! It's not funny! It's boring! It pisses me off! It's offending! I hate it! I don't like watching it at all! The plot sucks! It's the exact opposite of what I stated a Good episode should have! The episode is just horrible and awful and bleh! Or if SpongeBob, or some other characters, were EXTREMELY unlikable! And some other factors too! The point is, a episode that gets this rating, is what I call a BAD episode! Or maybe, it's just me being too harsh on it.

And finally, AMAZING is pretty much what I stated a Good episode is, but multiplied by 1,000,000. It's an episode hand crafted from SpongeBob SquarePants himself. It's basically perfect. The point is, it's an episode that I LOVE a lot, and is just an episode that I can't help but call, you know, AMAZING!

And I want you guys to say which ratings of certain episodes in which you agree or disagree with.

And for me, pretty much every episode of Season 1 is good except for I Was A Teenage Gary (MEH) and Squeaky Boots (bad).

Yeah, I hate Opposite Day a lot, because that episode really pissed me off. SpongeBob was a [dolphin noise] and there was a lot of Squid Torture in this one, almost worse than some post-movie episodes. Also, Squidward was really pissed off in this episode, which I didn't enjoy. SpongeBob was a dumb a** is this one, compared to the other Season 1 episodes. And some of the "opposite" things that SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward said didn't even make sense. I always kept thinking, so is what they're saying supposed to be opposite or not? And other than that, the episode is pretty boring. Sure, there was a few funny moments, but they're not enough to save his horrible episode. But why do you like it?

And yeah, I Was a Teenage Gary was a pretty bad episode. And I thought Squeaky Boots was alright. I never really hated it that much, and I didn't real find the "squeaks" that annoying. And I liked that Mr. Krabs freak out scene at the end. But I can see why you might not like it. I would call it Good, but with a hint of Meh.

Also, what do you think of my opinion of Fools in April? Do you hate it too.

I liked it because I thought Spongebob and Patrick were funny in this one. The idea of 'Opposite Day' sounded really hilarious. XD I haven't seen it in a while, and I never really saw it as Squid Abuse to begin with, so I'll watch it again to see.

I Was A Teenage Gary just BARELY evaded the bad territory for me. I don't blame anyone who hates this episode, as it is absolutely PAINFUL to watch. Before I saw Squeaky Boots, this was my original least favorite episode of season 1.

I don't hate this one, either, actually. Sure, what Squidward did to Spongebob was really mean, but at least he felt bad for his actions and TRIED to apologize. To me, this episode's not nearly as bad as Little Yellow Book, an episode where Squiddy does something mean to Spongebob and DOESN'T apologize for it!

Sorry, but I really DO NOT like the episode. It's okay if you like it though.

SpongeBob was WAY TOO ANNOYING in this episode. Even worse than Funny Pants! This episode is pretty much like the beginning of Funny Pants, but even worse and more annoying. Also, SpongeBob's jokes or pranks or whatever were not even funny AT ALL. Squidward's "prank" was disgusting, and I even believe that SpongeBob deserved to be punished by Squidward.

I HATED SpongeBob in that episode. And I usually love him. I hated Squidward too, and Patrick's cameo was stupid and not funny.

The rest of the episode was boring, the ending did not make sense, and this is the only SpongeBob holiday special that doesn't make sense. And the only one that airs all year long, for some random reason. So it's barely even a holiday special, even though it technically should be.

I can respect your opinion more if you tell me why you like it.

Yeah, they might of been kinda funny, but they weren't likable AT ALL. The writers really dumbed SpongeBob down in this one, unfortunately. And the idea of Opposite Day may have been good, but the writers executed the idea badly, and the result was a horrible episode. And yes, everyone should feel bad for Squidward in this episode. Also, I never understood that line, "Let me show you guys how much I HAAAATE YOU!!!". Was he saying that as an "opposite" statement? And did SpongeBob and Patrick think it was supposed to be one? And oh yes, this episode is the perfect example of Squid Abuse!!! Watch the episode again, and tell me what you think.

Yeah, I never liked I Was a Teenage Gary at all. The episode was gross, boring, and, yes, really painful to watch. And when I was a kid, that scene where "SnailBob" invades Squidward's house creeped me out! And I understand why you might not like Squeaky Boots. I'm considering changing my rating to a Meh for that episode.

And, no, no, no, I don't hate Fools In April because of Squidward. It's because of SPONGEBOB!!! He was an annoying, obnoxious piece of **** in that episode. And I usually love SpongeBob in most episodes, but not this one. He tortured Squidward with his lame pranks/jokes and his laughing. He was even randomly laughing into the intercom for no apparent reason! I honestly believe that this is the ONLY episode where I actually hate SpongeBob's laugh. SpongeBob deserved to be tortured by Squidward's prank, but of course everyone, and even SpongeBob, gets pissed off at Squidward. And yes, he tried to apologize, but still. A better episode where Squidward apologizes to Squidward is definitely Christmas Who, not this abomination. And I actually like Little Yellow Book better, for some reason. SpongeBob was pretty likable in the episode, and yes Squidward wasn't that likable, but I consider Squidward unlikable when he gets pissed off by SpongeBob all the time or is miserable and boring and ect. And he actually did try to apologize in that episode, just like in this episode, and SpongeBob eventually got over it and even published his diary, until Squidward read his even more embarrassing diary. But he might publish that one too, so...

That's why I hate Fools in April. You don't have to hate it, but I want to see you defend what I said, and I may like the episode a little more. Who knows?

I can agree with your choices. What do I disagree, here's what I'd change.

Reef Blower-Good, it may have not had dialogue, but it was still funny.

Jellyfishing-Good, it was a rare example of funny Squid torture.

MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy- Good, it was a great way to introduce the two. "I now pronounce you man and wife!"

Naughty Nautical Neighbors- AMAZING, the bassinet scene was great, and it was a classic episode in every way. Of course my Favorite is Pizza Delivery.

Nature Pants-Good, the little out of characterness made it interesting, I don't know how it moved from #6 to #89 in just a few weeks.

Aargh!-Good, I just liked it.

Fools In April-Meh, it isn't that bad, you know.

Yes, I actually agree with Opposite Day. I don't know what makes people think it's great, in fact, it's a little mean-spirited and annoying. The only thing keeping me from hating it was the hilarious birthday scene

IMO Opposite Day is great and very funny episode and honestly, I can let Squid abuse slide in this one. Sure, I felt bad for Squidward too but It was all Squidward's fault. If Squidward didn't tell SpongeBob that day was "Opposite Day", SpongeBob and Patrick wouldn't pretend to be Squidward, they wouldn't scace the house seller.


As for Fools in April, Sure SpongeBob made lots of pranks in this episode but why he did that? Because that is "April Fools Day" for goodness sake. Of coarse he made pranks to people. Also SpongeBob said he won't prank Squidward again and he didn't. He just decided to make pranks to other people. Squidward is annoyed by SpongeBob's pranks but SpongeBob pranked other people, not him. He shouldn't have been annoyed. Then Squidward decided to prank SpongeBob but SpongeBob got hurt very badly by Squidward's prank. At least SpongeBob's pranks didn't hurt anyone, instead of that, his pranks made people laugh. Squidward was a bigger jerk than SpongeBob IMO and I don't think SpongeBob deserves to get hurt by Squidward's prank but I would be fine, If Squidward made a harmless prank to SpongeBob. Later in that episode, Squidward felt really bad for SpongeBob and he apoligize to him. I agreed about the ending though. That confused me a lot. Minus Squidward's horrible prank and the confusing ending, I really liked that episode. The episode was funny and I liked that Squidward felt really bad for SpongeBob and he wanted to apoligize, unlike in Little Yellow Book, Squidward read SpongeBob's diary and he didn't even feel bad for him.


I agreed about the ratings for other season 1 episodes though. My favorite season 1 episode is SB-129. I can't wait for season 2.

I agree with most of your opinions. Well, Opposite Day is a good episode IMO.
For Fools in April, I hate the prank, but at least Squidward apologized SpongeBob, and I liked that episode and it is way better than Little Yellow Book.

I can agree with your choices. What do I disagree, here's what I'd change.

Reef Blower-Good, it may have not had dialogue, but it was still funny.

Jellyfishing-Good, it was a rare example of funny Squid torture.

Naughty Nautical Neighbors- AMAZING, the bassinet scene was great, and it was a classic episode in every way. Of course my Favorite is Pizza Delivery.

Reef Blower-Good, it may have not had dialogue, but it was still funny. I don't think it's too bad, but it's not an episode I'd find myself saying, "I want to watch Reef Blower today". It's a unique episode, since it's a silent short, but I prefer other episodes than this. I might change my rating though.

Jellyfishing-Good, it was a rare example of funny Squid torture. Yeah, I see what you mean by saying that it's a funny Squid Torture. I remember loving this episode as a kid, but now I kinda think that the whole jellyfishing with the injured Squidward part of the episode is kinda boring, other than the "firmly grasp it" and "Dah-dah-dah-dum" scene. But I'll consider changing my rating.)

And that kinda bugs me that you're letting Squid Abuse slide since this is a pre-movie episode, but if there's Squid Abuse in a post-movie episode, (almost) EVERYONE rants about it. If you're letting Squid Abuse slide in this one, you should do the same in some post-movie episodes too. Anyway, even before Squidward told SpongeBob that it was Opposite Day, they broke into his house and pretended that it was his birthday, even though they probably knew it wasn't. SpongeBob should've listened to Squidward and have been "quiet and out of the way" the whole day, but instead, he was even more obnoxious than usual.

Well, yes, it is April Fools Day, but SpongeBob's jokes/pranks were lame, stupid, not funny, and just painful to watch anyone think they're funny! Not to mention that his "prank" made Gary cry! If your prank is making someone cry, then that's not a prank! That's cruel! And yes, he stopped pranking Squidward, but when he's doing things like working at the cash register without Squidward's permission and obnoxiously laughing into the intercom for no apparent reason, OF COURSE Squidward's still going to be annoyed. And Squidward's annoyed because he's being annoying as ****, and even if he not directly annoying him. So Squidward pranks SpongeBob, and yes the prank made SpongeBob cry, but SpongeBob made Gary cry earlier, so... Anyway, SpongeBob just runs out and stays in his home and doesn't even talk to Squidward at all, and SpongeBob's randomly being a ::dolphin noise:: (sorry about calling him that) in the episode. And yes, I liked that Squidward tries to apologize to SpongeBob, which was good, but Christmas Who is a WAY BETTER episode of Squidward apologizing to SpongeBob in that episode, and a WAY BETTER episode overall, as he went through the trouble of pretending to be Santa, give out all his stuff, and tell SpongeBob that he's the one who brought Christmas to Bikini Bottom, and overall made SpongeBob REALLY HAPPY AND PROUD OF HIMSELF. (Wow, I love that episode.) And both episodes are holiday specials, but Christmas Who is obviously the better one. Anyway, back to Fools in April. The ending was really stupid and confusing. Why was everyone in SpongeBob's house?! Why did Squidward say that he takes back his apology?! And also, why was Patrick randomly wearing a Krusty Krab hat and digging?! There are so many things I dislike about this episode. But I do admit, I thought the line, "Even about the part about the lima beans and the car chase" was funny, even though it was pretty random. Yeah, and anyway, Squidward actually did try to apologize to SpongeBob in Little Yellow Book. But come on, what's worse, reading someone's diary or tying them into a rope and bashing him through the walls, ceiling, flour, someone's disgusting butt, and into garbage? And SpongeBob got over the diary thing pretty past, and even published his diary. He might publish his other diary too, who knows? And SpongeBob was not annoying at all in Little Yellow Book. The episode is probably a Meh to me, or maybe Good? I haven't though about that yet.

Good, I'm glad you agree with my other Season 1 ratings. And I like SB-129 too, which is why I gave it an AMAZING rating. And I'll be posting Season 2 sometime soon, but not today, because I still am possibly waiting for more feedback on my Season 1 ratings. Oh, and fun fact: Season 2 is my favorite SpongeBob season. :)

Okay, so I watch Opposite Day again, and I still do like it. It did make me laugh a few times (especially Gary as Squidward XD), and the ending, again, was funny. But to be fair, I don't think Squidward really deserved the abuse. Even when he did tell Spongebob about Opposite Day, you'd think that even though Spongebob was in the spirit of the holiday, he would at least act the opposite of his personality as well! I still find it decent, though the Squid Abuse brings it down for me.

You have a good point on both episodes (FiA and LYB). What i personally hated about Little Yellow Book was how hypocritical the Bikini Bottomites were. They wanted Squidward to read the diary, and then suddenly they shun him and ONLY him? What sense does that make? Though you may be right on how Spongebob reacted. He may have got over Squidward reading his second diary, and he may have published it! I still find Fools In April a bit better, though I can see why you hate it. Oh, and I forgot about Spongebob making poor Gary cry in the beginning! :( That was not good.

But come on, what's worse, reading someone's diary or tying them into a rope and bashing him through the walls, ceiling, flour, someone's disgusting butt, and into garbage? And SpongeBob got over the diary thing pretty past, and even published his diary. He might publish his other diary too, who knows? And SpongeBob was not annoying at all in Little Yellow Book. The episode is probably a Meh to me, or maybe Good? I haven't though about that yet.

Good, I'm glad you agree with my other Season 1 ratings. And I like SB-129 too, which is why I gave it an AMAZING rating. And I'll be posting Season 2 sometime soon, but not today, because I still am possibly waiting for more feedback on my Season 1 ratings. Oh, and fun fact: Season 2 is my favorite SpongeBob season. :)

And I don't hate Little Yellow Book. I think it's a pretty decent episode. But of course the other Season 9 episodes are better, except Squid Baby and Extreme Spots, which I did not like at all.

Actually there are some post-movie episodes that I did let Squid abuse slide: Boating Smarts, The Sinking Feeling and A Friendly Game. There are also a few Squid abuse episodes in pre-movie that I loved the episode but hated Squid abuse: Jellyfishing, Squid on Strike, Club SpongeBob.
