It takes a lot to make me cry, but when I think of sad songs that actually manage to make an impact on me and at least start to get my eyes watery, these two from classic Disney movies stick out to me: "Someone's Waiting For You" from The Rescuers and "When She Loved Me" from Toy Story 2. Granted, part of the sadness comes from the scenes themselves (the stuff after the "Someone's Waiting For You" song that's in the video below is actually what I consider to be the saddest part of the film), but the music plays a big role in making the scene/song sad. "When She Loved Me" is probably the more effective one of the two since it's longer and IMO sounds sadder, but the other one is pretty effective too and the scene right after it is very sad. Considering Toy Story 2 is my favorite Pixar film and The Rescuers is in my top 5 for the animated canon films, I feel like these bits are very important to why I love the two and they add effective drama to these already great films.
