I can kind of see why. There isn't really anything for them to show. Everyone already knows that SpongeBob and The Loud House aren't ending any time soon, and they don't have much else going for them.

Instead, the top kids brand will be having a series of more customized meetings with executives from media agencies and marketers looking to reach children and their parents.

I really hate having to keep hearing the words “executives” and “marketers” correlating to Nickelodeon. Upfronts never concerned me, but using such corporate language rubs me the wrong way.

Jeez, Nick is just running itself into a hole with SpongeBob and Loud House...
Pretty soon it's going to be the only two shows on the network at this rate.

Well given how cable is really on its way out and how Nickelodeon only shows SpongeBob SquarePants and Loud House, I can see how Viacom would opt to remove Nick Upfront this year. Plus the article says it's really expensive to put on, and I would imagine that the costs would not be justified with the network's ratings.
