I just read on NickAlive that SpongeBob might be getting renewed for a Season 14!

I honestly don't know how to react to this

Season 14 would mark the first real season without Stephen Hillenburg which means Nick will just continue to milk this poor show until they're forced to stop due to an unforeseen circumstance

This would just give them more opportunities to disrespect Hillenburg!

What do you guys think?

I don't think that's a big deal, considering that to me, it's no surprise that SpongeBob gets picked up for another season. I do respect your opinion.

Exactly

That was one of the "3 Conditions" I mentioned in the chat

If Tom Kenny retires or dies then SpongeBob SquarePants is as good as finished!

Nobody will want to watch the show without him, myself included

I agree 100%

SpongeBob's maximum episode cap should be 500 and its maximum season cap should be 20

By then I feel that Nickelodeon will have found their next big juggernaut or something terrible will have happened to one of the voice actors!

And if/when Tom Kenny retires or dies and Nick wants to keep the show going without him then that would be the final nail in the coffin for SpongeBob SquarePants IMHO

The big question is:

How will we know we're near the end of SpongeBob?

Would Nickelodeon stop advertising the show/character on their network and social media?

Would they completely yank the show off of their network?

Would all the new episodes and reruns air exclusively on NickToons?

Pretty much

That's what happened to Fairly OddParents

NickToons network=automatic cancellation!

Also, I feel that another way to tell if the end is near for SpongeBob SquarePants is if Nick introduces a new character mascot

However, it does make me wonder what the explanation is for Nickelodeon holding back episodes and airing them sporadically...

I am beginning to suspect there IS a secret episode cap

Well if Spongebob Season 14 will be the final season then it's fine

i can rewatch them on DVDs along with future season sets- Spongebob Squarepants Season 13 and Season 14 (would be label as The Final Season)
