Me reviewing every Sonic game.

Bomb-Selling Pirate
Before I begin, I'd like to quickly go over my rating system. The way I will be rating these games are from S all the way to F. So with that out of the way, let's begin with:
Sonic The Hedgehog

To put it blunty, I have no feelings towards this game. I don't hate it, not by a long shot, but I don't love it either. I'd say it was a good place to start the franchise from, but not good enough to not be added upon. The game feels very samey after a while, and when you beat the game, it just feels abrupt in ending. Like more levels were meant to be in this game. Sadly, we don't have any copies of the beta for this game, because they were stolen when SEGA planned to release them to the public. So, overall, I give this entry to the series a B+.

yeah, sure
Sonic The Hedgehog 2

I love this game alot, but I don't love it/like it more than Sonic 1. Even though it improved on it. I'll show you what it improved on, and what makes it slightly more lacking in the experience.

+ It has more speed!
- Sadly, the level design got less intricate to accomodate for the speed. :(
+ The game has more zones!
- But the speed makes it so that you just speed through them, without exploration.
+ Some stages are way better than Sonic 1's! Like, Casino Night and Oil Ocean!
- Chemical Plant and Metropolis.

So, from those improvements and disadvantages, I guess that Sonic 2 is just as good as Sonic 1, in my honest opinion. So, it gets a B+.

The best one I played was Sonic 3 & Knuckles. I played the entire game and I thought it was great. Better than Sonic 1, 2, & CD (don't get me started on Amy Rose, I hate her in the games). I also played the 8-bit version of Sonic 2, all Sonic Advance games and Sonic Battle, but also tried the Sonic Drift games.

Sonic Battle was a great game. I almost finished Story Mode, except that fight at the end ruined it for me. Man, Sonic and Shadow's AI is too strong against Emerl (the player). I tried so many ways to defeat them, but I couldn't. Also, Rouge is somewhat a difficult opponent to fight against. As for Knuckles, the defensive approach is the best option for me when I played against him. Emerl was kinda uncontrollable for me, even if I used the other copied attacks.

I wish I could play the Sonic Adventure games, as I liked their soundtrack. I also like the gameplay of both games from what I've seen on YouTube many years ago. Sonic Heroes is also an interesting game and I wished I could play that one, too.

I can agree that Sonic 1 feels the same everytime, because playing Sonic alone feels boring and repetitive afterwards. I still enjoyrf the game, but I can tell you that I'm not a huge fan of the game overall. I know it was the first game of the series and it had more simplicity, but the games after Sonic 1 are better, especially Sonic 3 & Knuckles (I played both games into one). It becomes kinda boring when I go back and play the game once again.

EDIT: I agree with Chemical Plant Zone from Sonic 2. In general, Sonic 2 was great, but that stage made me angry and took me 20+ times to finish it. Also, the song of Chemical Plant Zone itself is very annoying/obnoxious to hear. It hurts my ears and I really hated it. Also, Metropolis Zone was some of my favorites in Sonic 3, but I can understand why it has some issues. It may be time consuming, but I really enjoyed that stage much more than Chemical Plant Zone.

I agree whole-heartedly. Sonic 1 was a bit over-hyped. I think that people remember the game mostly for the commercials.

I like sonic 1 and 2 equally, more or less. Because both of them have things that one game does better than the other imo, so its kinda hard to choose between them

sonic 4 snes is the best sonic game hands down
