Is Nickelodeon overhated?

Not every show is bad, so I say yes. The way they run the network is not hated enough, though. I heard somewhere they have hours and hours and hours of produced content that they never ended up airing. How dumb are they?

ALVINNN!!! and SpongeBob are the only good shows they have now, in my eyes. And SB is still more crap than good so I wouldn't even count it, really.

Not Really. The only shows I like on tthere are Spongebob and Harvey Beaks, and I had just lost hope in Nick since 2013, and I think Nick deserves the hate, IMO.

Honestly I think they deserve the hate. Not because of most of the shows but because they keep trying to be cool and hip but end up being embarassments. As for the shows, SpongeBob is the only one to watch now. Harvey Beaks is really good but lost interest in for some reason. Pig Goat Banana Cricket is an underrated fun show but nothing special. Sanjay and Craig is ok, it has great episodes but again, lost interest. Rabbid Invasion and Breadwinners are pure garbage. And FOP's just lifeless now.

They definitely deserve a big amount of the hate. The good shows on Nick have been very rare over the last 10 years. Avatar, Harvey Beaks, Legend of Korra, and a few others have been really good. However, there are very desperate right now. The sitcoms on Nick make me want to forget the word comedy because the jokes are as low as you can get. Their cartoons are not much better. We had back in 09' the most annoying thing on TV (Fanboy and Chum Chum), another gross-out show (Bob's Burgers Sanjay and Craig) and... another YouTube show (Breadwinners). I love SpongeBob, but it is very clear that they have been milking it's money for around a decade (it makes around half of TheFineBr... I mean Viacom's profits). If they stopped trying to be so hip, they would actually be good and feel like a cartoon channel again, not the internet.

Yeah, sure. A lot of people are cool with the SpongeBob franchise of course (including me), and like others have mentioned, we've seen all the underrated gems that have come out. Heck, the "rare" amount can sometimes be an understatement.
However, we do have the stinkers of course. Some short-lived shows that we don't really like, most of the 2012-present trash sitcoms, and you know, the "hip" thing. It's just way too awkward. I'm really mixed on this one after all.

Nickelodeon is known for their gross-out factor, but they may have crossed the line this time. I heard that people are disgusted by episodes of Fanboy & Chum Chum, Breadwinners, Pig Goat Banana Cricket, Sanjay & Craig, etc., etc.

I personally think the only gems that are buried underneath these piles of Nickelodeon vomit are SpongeBob SquarePants (a perennial Nick staple) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (an excellent reboot of the franchise), as well as the Alvin & the Chipmunks reboot and Fairly OddParents (another staple of the network).

Aside from these great shows, I'd say Nick, as a cable network, is going downhill fast, and I don't see any sign of them slowing down with the rampant rise in cordcutters who want to cut cable television because of a high cable bill, and the switch to Netflix and Hulu for all their programming.

Oh most definitely. Their cartoons are treated with more and more trends in each episode for the kids watching, and it sickens me. Their live action shows now are just bad knockoffs of Disney Channel's live action shows. The only good stuff now is SpongeBob(obviously), Ninja Turtles(which is a great reboot by the way), Harvey Beaks(which is pretty good), and the Alvin and the Chipmunks reboot(at least it was better than Chipwrecked). All Nick is really doing now is trying to be hip with kids by mocking their rivals, and slapping in tons of memes everywhere in their commercials. I think some people now have a great reason to watch Disney or Cartoon Network, or maybe switch to Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon to watch kids TV. Heck, it clearly says something when they put more effort into their pre-school shows, than their regular programs

I'm going to keep hating them until they put those missing Penguins of Madagascar episodes on iTunes.
I think you should ask Dreamworks to put their Nick programs on Netflix like the rest of their cartoons.

I don't know, maybe? I'm honestly not interested in much of their content nowadays, but if kids still enjoy the network, I don't see much of a reason to complain.

I say yes they do deserve the hate. Say what you will about modern SpongeBob but they are the ones rushing episodes out and creating terrible episodes in the process. Harvey Beaks is their only other good show along with the Sponge. With that said pretty much every other show ranges from meh (Sanjay & Craig & Modern Fairly Odd Parents) to atrocious (Breadwinners & Fan Boy & Chum-Chum) Not to mention all of their live action shows are appallingly terrible. What makes Nickelodeon so bad is their inability to learn. While Cartoon Network and Disney are pumping out great new series that appeal to everyone. Nickelodeon is tossing out abysmal SpongeBob rip-offs, piss-poor live action shows & randum xD stuff from the internet and cancel any good shows they have (Kora). It's also pathetic how they keep trying to be "hip" while not realizing they are dating their network back big time. So yes. The network is terrible with a few gems. They deserve hate.

I don't think so. Most of their programming is terrible (SpongeBob and Harvey Beaks being the only ones I watch) and they focus too much on their awful sitcoms. I've never been a big fan of the channel to begin with, but I liked its past programming. Now I can't watch more than the shows I mentioned earlier.
