If dear Tom Kenny were to some reason pass away, what do you think would happen to the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise? Would the production of SpongeBob be stopped? Would a new voice actor be hired? Of course, we hope nothing bad ever happens to Tom, the voice of SpongeBob himself, but death is a real thing. In saying that, how do you think it would be handled?
 
On my phone it put the “If” on a separate line and I almost had a heart attack. With that being said, they would probably have unaired episodes, and would advertise the last one of those as the final episode in his memory

Then Nickelodeon would have no choice but to end SpongeBob SquarePants!

SpongeBob's role was tailor-made specifically for Tom Kenny and I cannot imagine another person playing him

But it's not Tom Kenny I'm worried about (although 57 isn't really young)

After what happened to Russi Taylor yesterday, I don't expect her to live much longer

As for if any of the VAs have health issues IDK but I wouldn't be surprised

After all nobody knew Russi Taylor would die soon or my dad would be fighting for his life right now!

Good point about the role of SpongeBob being specially chosen.

Now, I’m wondering how Nick would go about ending the show. Any thoughts on that?

It's hard to say since they have had SO many possible stopping points for the series but I think the absolute BEST way Nick can end SpongeBob is with the 3rd movie

I personally don't think SpongeBob would ever be the same if they lost a member of the core, original cast. That said, if Tom, Bill or Clancy were to drop dead tomorrow, I rather think Nickelodeon would still forge ahead and hire new vocal talent. Case in point: Sterling Holloway created Winnie-the-Pooh's signature voice, but he stepped down from the role well before his death. He had a very unique voice, but instead of putting Pooh on ice - which Disney would never do - other actors adopted the role: first Hal Smith, and more famously, Jim Cummings.

A good vocal artist would very easily be able to replace Tom for the purposes of the show. Of course, no one can replace the spirit and experience that the original cast continue to bring to the characters. :)
 
Nickelodeon should retire the show if this were to happen

My own dad died today and the very same thing could happen to one of the SpongeBob SquarePants voice actors!
 
With that said, I have decided to give up SpongeBob because of Dad so if Tom Kenny or someone else were to pass away it wouldn't really matter to me

Of course I do NOT want this to happen though

Nobody (except TRULY evil people) deserve to die!

I may have gotten fatigued on this show but I don't want to see any of them perish like Russi Taylor did
