Ghostbusters 2020 is an upcoming film in the Ghostbusters franchise. The film is directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman and it will be a direct sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989) (completely ignoring Paul Feig's box office flop Ghostbusters: Answer The Call from 2016) and it will pay tribute to Harold Ramis, the actor who played Egon Spengler. Jason Reitman said that he wanted to "hand the movie back to the fans." Filming has already began in Calgary, Alberta, Canada under the working title Rust City. Filming of the movie began in July 2019 and will be expected wrap in October 2019. Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard, Carrie Coon, Paul Rudd, Logan Kim and Celeste O'Connor have been cast. It has yet to be announced if Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will return. Unused footage from the first two movies will be incorporated into the movie's flashbacks.

Ghostbusters 2020 will come to theaters July 10, 2020.

Haven't seen the remake from a few years ago. This has potential, but I'm still not sold on it. It wouldn't matter if some of the original cast came back or not - there needs to be a solid story and some great character acting, otherwise it's just another rehash and money grab. :confused:
