Arguably the three most successful artists in the industry right now, as well as the three (that I know of) that actually sing live, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Adele have sold millions of albums world wide, and have their own unique style. Let's just analyze each right now:

Lady Gaga
Hot 100 Number One Hits: Just Dance, Poker Face, Born This Way
Overall Number One Hits: Just Dance, Poker Face, Paparazzi, LoveGame, Bad Romance, Alejandro, Telephone, Born This Way, Judas, Edge of Glory, You and I, Marry the Night
Number One Albums: Born This Way
Amount of Albums Sold Total: 23 Million
Sales For Each Album: The Fame (12 Million), The Fame Monster (2 Million), Born This Way (8 Million)
Tour Grosses: The Fame Ball Tour ($350,000) The Monster Ball Tour ($230 Million), Born This Way (TBA)

Katy Perry
Hot 100 Number One Hits: I Kissed a Girl, California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T., Last Friday Night, Part of Me
Overall Number One Hits: I Kissed a Girl, Hot and Cold, Waking Up in Vegas, California Gurls, Teenage Dream, Firework, E.T., Last Friday Night, The One That Got Away, Part of Me
Number One Albums: Teenage Dream
Amount of Albums Sold Total: 11 Million
Sales For Each Album: One of the Boys (4 Million), Teenage Dream (7 Million)
Tour Grosses: Hello Katy ($150,000), California Dreams ($60 Million)

Adele
Hot 100 Number One Hits: Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Set Fire to the Rain
Overall Number One Hits: Rolling in the Deep, Someone Like You, Set Fire to the Rain
Number One Albums: 21
Amount of Albums Sold Total: 27 Million
Sales For Each Album: 19 (7 Million), 21 (20 Million)
Tour Grosses: An Evening with Adele (TBA), Adele Live (1 Million)

So, despite having more Number Ones on a single album than anyone besides the King of Pop himself, Katy Perry comes in dead last statistically. Lady Gaga lags behind Adele in terms of album sales by 5 million, but is way ahead of her in terms of tour sales. Thoughts on all three? I'm a huge Lady Gaga fan, and honestly think Katy Perry is trying to copy her. She also can't sing nearly as well as Gaga and Adele can. Adele has a gorgeous voice, and has gotten successful purely through amazing songs and an amazing voice. However, Gaga is amazing in that she can dance her heart out while simultaneously producing beautiful vocals.

Thoughts?

Adele, hands down. I've barely listened to any of the three, but in 15 or 20 years I'm sure Adele's 19 and 21 will be getting more plays than anything Gaga or Katy Perry are putting out. Those two also rely on what I would call "gimmicks"; costumes, dancing, et cetera, which may be a logical reason why Gaga leads in tour sales but Adele holds the crown in album sales. Adele reaches across a broader spectrum of listeners.

In other words, slow and steady wins the race. ;)

Adele.

She also seems the most sane.

I basically agree with what those two said, even though I've only heard "Someone Like You" (which is an amazing song). I also think that Adele seems to be more genuine than the other two (like what spongedude said, no flashy costumes and whanot), although I should probably do more research on her.

I dislike them all. Especially Adele.

Two songs. Two songs that are played over and over and over and over again. I really didn't think they would be so popular and be replayed forever. But then again we have people doing "songs" like 'Rack City' and becoming chart hits.

I don't like the current charts, I don't think I'm the only one who doesn't either obviously, but I liked chart music back in the early 00s, and I look back to chart music in the 90s and even the 80s and I like it. And I'm not looking through rose-tinted spectacles because I'm only 15. Technically I should like what's in the chart at the moment, but I hate 99% of it. Seriously there's only ever 1 or 2 songs I like during a chart year. There's every chance that in 10 years I will actually enjoy the chart. But right now it's just not for me.

And another thing, why has fashion suddenly gone back to the 80s?

Well, I wouldn't say that; more like Gaga's gone back to the 80s. :P

But I agree with everything you said (besides the Gaga section ;p).

You took the words right out of my mouth.

horrible all of them and who is Katy Perry?

Adele all the way! I love her the most out of all the three. I like Katy Perry (also Katy Hudson as she was back then) and the OLD Lady Gaga. :)

This discoesque music sucks. Let me put it this way: Adele: bad. Gaga: worse. Perry: Hannah Montana. All bad.
I'd rather hear Hannah Montana.
