Does SpongeBob Know The Secret Formula?

This is something I've been wondering lately. I used to be convinced SpongeBob already knew it, and some episodes even imply he knows it. However, in Sponge Out Of Water, he has no idea what the formula is, in "Married To Money", Mr. Krabs states he has never told anyone the formula before, and in "CopyBob DittoPants", Mr. Krabs tells the SpongeCopies about it as if it were the first time he was telling SpongeBob the formula

He knows it but he purposefully blocks it out of his mind. And if Mr. Krabs can forget killing someone by stuffing them in a locker, he can forget telling SpongeBob the formula.

He does know the formula. I mean why else would Mr. Krabs trust him as his loyal employee? As for those examples you mentioned, it's all just a matter of poor continuity. In Truth or Square, Mr. Krabs told SpongeBob the formula in the flashback, but he acts like he never told anyone in Married to Money, which was pretty much the build up of that episode's climax.

I think he puts it on sometimes as so to detract from it, but he does know it, making Patties is pretty routine anyway so he doesn't need to necessarily remember it as it comes naturally to him.

What I think is that he has access to the formula, but as he said, isn't supposed to memorize it. From what the show implies, the formula is for making the patties themselves. They have pre-made patties in the freezer, so making them probably isn't a daily thing.

Yes in the episode The Inside Job it is shown that Spongebob has the secret formula in his heart. Then again I can't always expect the writers to keep continuity considering in The Great Patty Caper (the same season) it is shown that Spongebob can't remember the recipe. So really I don't think we can be completely sure whether or not he knows the secret formula.

That probably because SOOW, The Great Patty Caper, Married to Money, and CopyBob DittoPants happened before....

oh wait... in KKTV, SpongeBob is a new employee back there and was told the secret formula by the narrator.....

Or maybe...he just says that he has never told anyone, for the sake of people not wanting to ask his employees about the formula. I bet Spongebob knows it, he's awesome at Krabby Patty making and way too loyal to his job to give it away.

I don't know what you want to see the point of having a good time with my life is so much fun and easy to use it for the next day you're here to help you with the best thing about this is the only one that has a great day for the first time in a few years and the rest of the year and a half hour of sleep.

^That was written only with iPhone's predictive text thingy. Didn't work at all. What I was trying to say is it depends on the episode.

Of course he does... but you know. There's always an excuse for Krabs not to tell anyone he knows, or else they will hunt for it (like :plankpoint: ).

I'm pretty sure he's been told, but he just refuses to remember it or remind himself out of fear that he might blurt it out unexpectedly. He has it in his brain (or heart) deep down, hidden from everyone including himself.

In "Sponge On The Run" the formula is revealed in the form of the song, and it says it's him. Of course he knows it.

Of course

He works in the back of the restaurant and deals with preparing the food plus Mr. Krabs trusts him

Now...does Squidward know the secret formula?

Probably not since unlike SpongeBob he works in the front of the Krusty Krab and takes peoples' orders!
