Depends on whether he's the funny kind of dumb or annoyingly dumb. Later seasons seem to struggle more with getting this balance right.

I like it when his dumbness comes from him thinking he knows more than he does. When it's just him acting like a toddler having a sugar rush then it's not funny.

Most of the time it’s funny. There is a couple of times where his dumbness can be a bit annoying.

This show doesn't have continuity so anything said in other episodes has to be taken with a grain of salt

I like when Patrick is funny but his constant "dumb schtick" has gotten kinda tiresome

Sometimes. In pre movie era he was mostly wonderful and verry funny. In post movie era he sometimes annoying(yes Stuck in The Wringer, I'm talking about you!). In the post sequal(which is my least favorite era) he is mostly unfunny like the rest of the characters.
