I was wondering if the pickles in SpongeBob are imported from land or are they made out of sea cucumbers. As we have seen, sea cucumbers are human-like in the show: Kevin C. Cucumber. Maybe this is why no sea cucumbers are ever in the Krusty Krab? Any thoughts?

Sea cucumbers are a real species of underwater plant, so I doubt they’re meant to be actual sentient food in-canon.

Well in episodes like Chum Caverns and Chum Bucket Supreme, they eat Plankton's chum, so yes, they do.

I don't remember seeing ant Sea Cucumbers in Chum Caverns or Chum Bucket Supreme?
Also, if the theory that chum is fish is correct, does that mean the times that the fish eat at the Chum Bucket mean they are eating other fish?

Yes, that is what I'm saying. Chum is fish, so the fish basically ate themselves.

Does anyone know any other examples? I can't think of any on top of my head...

Maybe one day a sailor left his rope untied and a box of 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000-year pickle supply fell in the water and landed at the Krusty Krab. Then Mr. Krabs tried it and decided to add it to a Krabby Patty. :P
