The Promise Part 1 is the upcoming first installment in a trilogy of graphic novels set in the Avatar universe as a continuation of the Avatar: The Last Airbender storyline. Written by comic author Gene Yang, this first installment will be released by Dark Horse Comics in collaboration with Nickelodeon on January 25, 2012.[1] Mainly set one year after the conclusion of the original series, The Promise Part 1 will detail the adventures of Avatar Aang and his friends soon after the War, and together with the rest of the trilogy will provide a link to the upcoming spin-off series The Last Airbender: Legend of Korra.
