A realization I made about SpongeBob

The show uses 2 similar plots:

1.Plankton tries and constantly fails to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula
2. SpongeBob tries and constantly fails to pass his Boating School test

Both instances revolve around a character trying to reach an unobtainable goal!

Has anyone else noticed this or just me?

Thanks in advance!

I never really thought about this before. I mean, we could just say it's a product of the fact that this show is episodic, so there's no overarching plot therefore Plankton can never really win, same goes to SpongeBob. Or, in a more interesting way, we can say that this show about a talking sea sponge actually teaches children the great value of never giving up. I like that explanation more haha.

Yeah, this is something you notice with ease after watching enough episodes. A good finale for the show would be for Plankton getting the Formula and 'ruling the world' via having a very big fast food chain thanks to a combination of the Krabby Patty and Chum (We saw in The Krusty Bucket that apparently such a combination is delicious, though I don't know I'm not sure Plankrab was telling the truth when he said that. We can also have Spongebob getting his boating license in the finale to rap everything up with a nice little bow.
