65 years since Barry Anthony's birthday

Mr. Anthony

Bomb-Selling Pirate
65 years ago in New York City Barry Anthony, one of the SpongeBob composers, was born.
At the age of 8 his father started to teach him how to play a clarinet, for which he was grateful to him. Who knows, maybe we would never have heard his wonderful tunes in the show if it weren't for his father. When he was 15, the orthodontist advised him to choose another instrument because of overbite problems. But even this didn't become an excuse for ending not started music career of Anthony.
In 1988 he became a licensed pilot.
Barry Anthony hasn't lived up to his 65th anniversary. He died of a heart attack at the age of 64 on October 27, 2016.
"Barry was an amazingly talented & versatile musician; he played all around Los Angeles, particularly the Sky Room at the Breakers Hotel in Long Beach & at the Jazz Forum in Santa Monica, where he hosted many big name guest jazz artists monthly. I'm thankful to Barry for may evenings of great musical entertainment & for his frienship.
Barry composed for many animated TV shows & movies, winning 3 ASCAP awards for his work on SpongeBob SquarePants. He dedicated his life to music up until the end, still writing the score for a new Disney film. Barry was a wonderful trumpet player, especially Chet Baker styles. He was demanding as a bandleader, calling his band the "boot camp of jazz.”
Barry also ran a flight simulator school, helping boost morale & give direction to many young people in his community. He was extremely creative & always had a new project on the horizon."
He's little known to people, but for the SpongeBob community he contributed as a composer, remembered forever. His tracks are played since season 4. Squiddy G, Fooling Around, Super Highway March, Proud to be a Fish, Heroes to the Rescue, Bubble Poppin' Boys, A Fishy Conversation and much more, all these tracks are composed by himself or together with other composers. He is also well known for the clarinet compositions of Squidward.
He was also the only composer of SpongeBob who made release of his tracks. We're infinitely grateful to him for that.
And even though now he's not with us anymore, his music continues to play in the series, perpetuating the memory of him forever. Thank you for all the music!
