What did you guys think of Season 5's 7 minute episode, 4 minute episode, and 11 minute episode? I really liked them for some reason and I wanna know how they came up with it and why they decided to abandon it. Idk, some of the short ones are just nice little storylines that don't need complexity that I really enjoyed.Thoughts?

This was because the pilot, Help Wanted, was made before the series was greenlit, so it didn't have to be 12 minutes like the other episodes; so Reef Blower was added to bring the runtime up to 22 minutes. It wasn't exactly done on purpose like in season 5.

As to what my opinion is, I quite liked them. It made it watching seasons more interesting when they were different lengths and sometimes would take the same time to tell one story as multiple. Sometimes I actually watch the shorter episodes just because I'm short on time :p
