Haha it's not what it looks like! This might be another sign that they sort of rushed making the sprites of Pokemon that weren't in Ruby/Sapphire. Maybe they were rushing and missed this haha

That sprite under the original water type starters final evolved form is actually an existing pokemon it was actually the working design of Bayleef
Farfetch'd and Pinsir were originally going to have the capabilities of evolving with Madame and Plux
Octillery's beta design looks a little off

Interesting. I haven't really looked at the gs beta before. A ditto evolution would be very interesting

For me

Gen 1: Wartortle

Wartortle looks tough and i like that

Gen 2: Croconaw

Quilavas good too but Croconaw is easily the best.

Gen 3: Combusken

Torchic is bad but its evolution is practically god tier

Gen 4: Prinplup

Nice Design not gonna lie

Gen 5: Dewott

Dewott has a really nice look and to it

Quilava is cool

Woah, I didn't realize that. I just saw its evolutions aren't much better. I didnt use the Cyndaquil line much in those games. Some of the animations in those games weren't the best in general.

Ivysaur's RSE sprite is kind of awkward. Its an odd pose. Why would it be sitting down during a battle?

Zapdos' RSE sprite is a little odd. Sort of an odd pose. The pose does look kinda cool though. Its wings look a little too small. Looks like maybe they were trying to fit the sprite in a limited space.

Squirtle's sprite in RSE looks kinda off as well. It looks a little too thin, its arms and tail are a bit too long. Its head is a little small. It has a weird pose too. Squirtle looks like it just came up with an idea or something haha

Yeah they are both a yellow color. They were the first of many "Pikachu clones." But they look more similar to Pikachu than most others do

More bad gen 5 sprites

Sentret

First of all why is it wobbling on its tail? It has always been shown to be secure on its tail! Also the arms and feet are waaaaaaaay too small! This is probably the 3rd worst gen 5 sprite

Tauros

That face it makes is really unfitting for a sprite that is supposed to look tough

Magikarp kinda looks like its glitching out

Raichu


This is the 2nd worst sprite from gen 5. Raichu is joyfully cheering it seems. So it clearly doesnt look like its ready to even fight!

Ditto


I really dont get Ditto's gen 5 sprite it looks a little off

Smeargle - Smearpup (evolves with high friendship)

Eevee - Eev (evolves while leveling up and knowing Take Down) (we have Pichu {pikachu} so why not?)

Yanma - Yanmini (evolves while leveling up and knowing U-Turn)

Smearpup: (Catagory: Fingerpainting pokemon) This pokemon isn't very artistic it uses berries to create paint it doesn't
have a artistic tail so it uses its paws to paint instead

Eev: (Catagory: Tiny Pokemon) This little pokemon is very shy it doesnt even try to be very social to its trainer but it knows how to pick a fight. Its said that someday this little pokemon will have the ability to evolve into almost every type!

Yanmini: (Catagory: Fly Pokemon): Despite it having wings this pokemon cant actually fly so it prefers to walk even though hates walking it doesnt watch its surroundings. As a result, it occasionally gets stepped on.
