So, a movie coming out called A Dog's Purpose, had an on set video leaked. This video was filmed in November of 2015, yet they released it only a week before the film was released. They sent it to TMZ, and edited it to make it look like the dog was being forced into the water.

Horrifying? Eh, maybe. It never looked that bad to me. However, about a day ago, the author saw the uncut footage and said this:

http://deadline.com/2017/01/a-dogs-purpose-producer-author-says-unedited-tape-the-dog-was-in-no-danger-1201891070/

First I want to thank everyone—and there have been literally thousands of you—who have written to express support. Your words and thoughts mean the world to us.
I found the video we’ve all seen to be shocking because when I was on set, the ethic of everyone was the safety and comfort of the dogs.
If the people who shot and edited the video thought something was wrong, why did they wait fifteen months to do anything about it, instead of immediately going to the authorities?
I have since viewed footage taken of the day in question, when I wasn’t there, and it paints an entirely different picture.
The written commentary accompanying the edited video mischaracterizes what happened. The dog was not terrified and not thrown in the water—I’ve seen footage of Hercules earlier that day joyfully jumping in the pool. When he was asked to perform the stunt from the other side of the pool, which was not how he had been doing it all day, he balked. The mistake was trying to dip the dog in the water to show him it was okay—the water wasn’t his issue, it was the location that was the issue, and the dog happily did the stunt when he was allowed to return to his original spot.
I also didn’t like it when Hercules’s head briefly went under water, but there was a scuba diver and a trainer in the pool to protect him. He loves the water, wasn’t in danger, and wasn’t upset.
On a movie where the mantra was the safety and comfort of the dogs, mistakes were made, and everything needs to be done to make sure those errors are not repeated. But the reason American Humane certifies that no animals were harmed during the making of the film is that no animals were harmed during the making of the film.
I celebrate animal rescue and am proud of the values that show up in A Dog’s Purpose.
If what he is saying is true (and it most likely is), that means TMZ condemned a film, and probably made it completely die at the box office, all because they falsely edited footage in an attempt to make people lose their ::dolphin noise:: over it. In addition to the financial loss the studio will take, people also spammed it with 1 star votes on IMDB and got it as the 23RD LOWEST RATED MOVIE OF ALL TIME. Luckily, IMDB stopped allowing users to vote on it, but still. In addition to that, the poor director, who had nothing to do with the incident in the first place, is being harassed and insulted on Twitter.

The saddest thing about that article is the comments section. Choosing to ignore all that evidence placed in front of them? Lol.

Millions of pigs, cows, and chickens are tortured and slaughtered every year, yet when one dog doesn't want to get wet, there's a massive boycott to get the film cancelled? The premiere already was cancelled. And don't even get me started on PETA boycotting the film as well. Yes, the people who literally euthanize dogs and have taken dogs from LITTLE GIRLS off the streets before killing them the next day are absolutely in the right mind to boycott a dog getting its feet wet. What a hypocritical organization.

This is a textbook definition of letting emotions getting in the way of facts. I encourage all of you to see the movie in theaters to soften the financial loss the studio will inevitably take on this film. Thank you.

I do not know much about this film, but this is ridiculous. TMZ just like ::dolphin noise::ting on people's achievements, don't they? They've done this many times, hell that's the entire point of the series. And obviously, since they decided to wait 15 months to send in the footage, the people who found this are doing it only to knock the movie, undeservedly. If the animal was harmed in any way, the movie wouldn't even exist and this person would most likely get punished. Ugh.

Might I remind everyone that this is the movie that is controversial:

It literally looks like the most innocent movie ever made.

TMZ is absolutely awful and I think that they are just as bad as PETA in a way. Both are full of hungry hungry hypocrites (sorry not sorry) that that upset of things that are so innocent, and they make it like the worst things ever. Even if the dog was injured, the movie wouldn't even be a thing and the people would get sued. Of course, the dog's head was under the water for a minute, but there was a scuba diver and a trainer that protected it and the dog came out just fine. PETA and TMZ shouldn't exist, and they are the bane of my existence.

TMZ honestly has to be one of the worst shows out there, because it actively harms society. When you think about shows you hate (I won't list any examples), it's because they annoy you and, for the most part, only you. TMZ tries its best to annoy anything possible.

PETA are complete hypocrites who simply can't see the line between fantasy and reality, and think that animals in fantasy are the worst things imaginable, when really, they make us like amimals in reality even more.

That makes me remember PETA's game controversies a few years ago, they ripped on Pokemon, Super Mario 3D Land, and Assassin's Creed IV for some pretty insane reasons, my favorite was Super Tofu Boy, mostly because of how Super Meat Boy's creator responded.

I was really upset to hear about this at first because I really want to see it. But then I realized who was complaining. I'm glad it seems to be false, because the author of the book wouldn't have stood for it at all.

I also find a general rule of thumb to be: if the YouTube title is in all caps and uses lots of exclamation points, you'd do better not to believe it. People: please get educated before automatically going with the first thing you see. It disturbs me that the SBM community is more mature and knowledgeable about this than many adults.

Except Barnum and Bailey actually abuse animals:
