An obvious parody of the classic Dire Straits song Money For Nothing. And a really cringy one at that, but this HAD to be said.

I want my good old reads...

Now, check those ::dolphin noise:: writers
That's the way you do it
Forum takeovers and your likes for free
That ain't writing
That's the way you do it
Ten likes for nothing, and three "fans" for free
That ain't writing
That's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya, these guys ain't dumb
Show you a "battle", or some insane charade
They'll show you all how chum is fum

We've gotta write these dozens of lines
We've gotta add creativity
We gotta add some criticisms
'Cause we loathe these stupid reads

In the tradition of Avatar and Korra
In the tradition of our trusted Square
Fanfics have plotlines full of story and emotion
Why are these always in our freaking hair?!

We've gotta write these dozens of lines
We've gotta add creativity
We gotta add some criticisms
'Cause we loathe these stupid reads

I should be working on some OBAB spin-offs
Stupid forum drama, or Task Force stuff
That's little effort, guaranteed best-sells
Show off a demo in the good old blogs

But that ain't my style
That ain't the old school
I only make it if it's from the heart
You call it stupid, you call it boring
At least I'm happy, who wants to be smart?

We've gotta write these dozens of lines
We've gotta add creativity
We gotta add some criticisms
'Cause we loathe these stupid reads

I want my, I want my, I want my good old reads...
I want my, I want my, I want my good old reads...

It sucks to die of laughter, I hope you're not having a terrible, horrible no good very bad day in your safe neighborhood.

meh, the splaat show is a completely original thing

imo there's a difference between "shows" that are just "social commentary" about SBM and shows that take SBM members and put them in human situations.
the "social commentary" type is just somewhat boring and kinda feels like the samething every time while the "human situations" type are USUALLY better because they actually have a somewhat original plot and even if these are done wrong they feel somewhat less gimmicky.
that being said, both have potential and can be done wrong. I just wanted to point out that these are different.
