SBM Minecraft Server PUBLIC RELEASE

Before I get accused of copying SBC's SpongeCraft, I started working on this server since before it came out. Check through the older Plankton's Laboratory thread. I never got around to releasing it publicly because I couldn't afford a host, and I couldn't use my PC as one 'cause my internet sucks.

But, after all that time, here it is! Change your Minecraft version to 1.7.9 by clicking Edit Profile and choosing it from the drop down list called "Use version."

So, what does it have?

Currently it has Minecraft Hunger Games, One in the Chamber, Skyblock, Skyblock Warriors, a creative mode world, and a survival world. More coming soon!

Beta testers for the old server version will be the only ones who will be able to beta test our newest features still. Stay tuned for PMs.

This is the old build and I'm too lazy to update the plugins and such right now. :P

Minecraft alone is lame.

Minecraft with serverside plugins or mods can be a totally different experience.

Sure i'll play. I've already had fun with Spongecraft so why not try this one also. :P

I'm building a new minimap for the server about the universe being enslaved by living bottles of Oxi-Clean. I'll post screenshots when I'm close to being done.

In other news, I'll try adding some new things this week. Thinking of adding a bigger, better spawn for the Factions world as well as a SpongeBob-themed lobby (will need help on those 2 :P)

Any other suggestions? I believe one of you requested Mob Arena, I'll add that tomorrow.

Alright, so I've got a pretty big change ready. The server now has a custom client, meaning you don't need to own Minecraft to connect. It's not released yet, though, since I need users who have played on it before to register their usernames.

It basically works as a portable container for the game with the server and client version preconfigured. You choose a username and you're ready to go.

Once you're in the server, you register an account for your username. So /password [pw] [pw again].

Please do not use the same password as your SBM account or any other account. If you're scared of losing your password, don't worry, just send me a PM and I'll reset it for you if it ever happens.

This isn't implemented yet so I can make sure the current server users read this before the big change.

With this, we can have many more users on the server and anyone can join in on the fun.

We should do the event multiple times and pick a time like a Saturday night or something. However, we need everybody to give us their timezones for that to fully work out if they want to participate so we can have a full list of times

Mine's EST. Also, did you make a server account? Could you still build in your plots? There's a possibility you might have to make new ones but I don't know for sure yet. Do I need to re-OP you or are you still OP?

I think the authentication feature + the new custom client treats you as a different user due to the new Minecraft UUIDs, but aside from having to make new plots everything else should be the same.

I didn't make a new account... I'm posting from my iPad right now, I can't go on the server tonight

I went into the game, it told me to do a command to register my passoword. I tried a few times, but it either lost connection before I finished or it wasn't the right way to enter the command.
