People need to stop treating the Wii U like it's the worst thing to exist. They have released some good-looking games for me to get one, such as Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros.

By comparison, I think WiiU is good console. That's because their exclusive is better than the other consoles in the term of gameplay and fun. For example, many Xbone's "exclusives" are being ported to PC (Dead Rising 3, Ryse, etc).

Also I used to own a Gameboy color, never played Pokemon (never really interested me) but instead I played Advanced War aaaall the time.

I need to get a Wii U soon, too bad I probably won't get it this holiday season. I'm pretty hyped for Smash Bros, that's why I wanna get it.

I think everything that Nintendo has done in a major way, except for the Virtual Boy, is great. The only exception is WiiU. Instead of a brand new console like all the others were, we get an extension of some kind and a little upgrade on graphic capabilities. Was not pleased. And it's not backwards compatible with Wii games. Huge disappointment.

Yeah, they should've made it like the other two consoles. Powerful and with good third party support. Sadly, nothing can be done about it. I might get it for Smash Bros and Zelda but other than that its truly lacking. Its backward compatible with the Wii though.

I meant the WiiU games (Luigi U and other new games) are not backwards compatible. This is what sucks. :\

Ah ok, but obviously Wii U games can't run on the original Wii since its a newer console. Still, I get your point.

Zelda U several times bigger than Twilight Princess: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/252512/zelda-wii-u-several-times-the-size-of-twilight-princess/
Mario Maker to have online sharing, Starfox to use Amiibos: http://www.vgchartz.com/article/252513/miyamoto-mario-maker-to-have-online-functionality-star-fox-u-to-use-amiibo/

Also I have a question for you guys: Is it just me, or is the 3DS's 2015 lineup looking scarce.
They will probably announce a Pokemon game.

True that. It can also play Wii games, so I can experience the games I missed out on with that system.

Sadly, a lot of people think Nintendo needs to step up their game. I worked at EB Games for about 3 years and people's general opinions of Nintendo are starting to go downhill... maybe it's all the gamers growing out of their childhood love for Mario, Pokemon & Zelda. But I guess after you continue a franchaise for a couple of decades people start to lose interest.

Everyone is all about the most expansive, immersive and (usually) the most violent gameplay nowadays... why play a fairly tame, linear platformer when you can explore the massive city in GTAV or experience the nonstop action of COD online multiplayer? Most kids want Call of Duty, GTA & Battlefield more than they want the newest Pokemon or Mario... that wasn't the case when I was growing up. I wasn't even allowed to watch Pokemon due to the violence in it, let alone play M rated games.

I still love everything Nintendo. It's colorful. It's fun. It makes me feel happy and nostalgic. Especially Pokemon.

It sucks, but it is a newer console so there's nothing they can really do about that. :/

I agree, but to add to this, video games in general are losing the audience that they had just 5 years, with mostly actual gamers more into actual consoles now. Games like Mario Kart and Wii Sports helped to popularize the Wii since so many people who wnated a casual experience got it (not to say the Wii was just a casual experience though)

But even without the casual, video games in general are going down as things are becoming more mobile. Of course, it's nothing crazy right now but this is probably what has continued to amount to lower Nintendo opinions. ANd then, of course, peoplpe have to fit in and play the games that are popular. =/

That would be forwards compatible :P. No console this gen has done that, no console that I know of has ever done that.

I think Nintendo is delivering well with the Wii U. The things that are bringing it down are 1) The casual audiance is playing on tablets now and 2) There's no 3rd party support. In Nintendo's defense they tried the 3rd party support thing. If you look at their launch line up, they had a TON of 3rd party games. Unfortunately no one bought them and publishers realized they won't be making any money off of the Wii U.
