Yes. I absolutely hate it all.

Theres no reason to take out your anger on us. All because you weren't nominated for a meaningless award that doesn't even exist?
Ahah.

There's also no reason for you to go off-topic in this thread and bring that mess into it. Ain't that right, Nards?

Wait... Savannah College of Art and Design.... Savannah College Art Design..... SCAD....

Oh! Snap no way! I'm always seeing flyers and posters for SCAD! Since I'm signing up for colleges this year, and I aim to go to art college.... But I forget if they have animation or not... If they do I guess I'll look....

But wow, small world lol. Totally naive of me to miss connecting the two! But that's kinda cool how a college that's trying to advertise to me is related with the SpongeBob filming!
I would assume so, since an animator I know on another forum/site went there. :b She actually runs a group for current students and alumni on dA, if you want to look around at some works.

And to bring this post back on topic... So far everything is looking wonderful for the live action sequences~ I really love all of the little details they're getting in for things that will probably only be on screen for a few seconds.
I am a bit worried about the need for 3D (specifically, "facial rigging" which heavily implies character modeling of some kind) since I absolutely loved the way the first film looked and am a 2D animator myself, but I've seen some pretty amazing things be done with 3D and I doubt it would limit the amount of expression and movement in the characters if they do everything correctly. (If anyone is wondering about the limits, I have an example link ready to Ctrl+V at any time~) The only real reason I would completely object to 3D would be if they're going to try using toon shading, which is an attempt to make 3D animaton look 2D, because it drives me crazy every time I see it and just seems lazy.

16 months left until its release. I've never felt such a strange combination of impatience and excitement :P

From a Hollywood Reporter article:

Kauffman, who has also worked on such consumer products properties as the Simpsons during her career, also touted the continued success of Nickelodeon evergreen SpongeBob SquarePants over the past 14 years. "In this time frame, nothing has done this well," she said when asked about SpongeBob's success in retail aisles in comparison with other content franchises.

SpongeBob is the most widely distributed intellectual property in Viacom’s history with more than $12 billion in global consumer products sales to-date.

General manager and senior vice president for NVCP Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia Mark Kingston during a presentation compared SpongeBob to such other iconic characters as Mickey Mouse, Bugs Bunny and Kermit the Frog. "Every half second, someone on the planet is interacting with SpongeBob," he said.

A brief clip showcasing the animation for the planned 2015 SpongeBob movie also drew much applause from industry observers.
I want to see this clip so badly. :wetpaint:

If your parents see a commercial for the movie, they will watch you VERY closely when it comes out.
I'll find a way, don't worry. ;)

Besides they only watch Pakistani tv anyways.
